Selling Space at M Resort
![]()
The $1 billion M Resort will include a 1,000,000-square-foot mall as part of the project, developers announced last month.
Anthony Marnell III and MGM Mirage, his partner on the project, said Taubman Centers will build and run the mall, which will be anchored by currently unnamed major department stores.
The mall will open in 2011 or 2012, at which point it will become the first major retail amenity in a locals’ casino.
“We think it’s the next level of experience,” Marnell explained.
Despite being part of a locals’ casino, the shopping center would be about twice the size of the Grand Canal Shoppes in the Venetian.
Taubman will lease the land on which it will design, build and operate the mall. The company already has a relationship with MGM Mirage providing retail leasing services at CityCenter.
M Resort is being built on 90 acres on South Las Vegas Boulevard. It is scheduled to open in spring 2009.
It will feature a 12-story, 390-room hotel tower, 92,000 square feet of gaming, 60,000 square feet of meeting space and a 100,000-square-foot pool area.
