Vol. 4, No. 6, June 2008
Styx and stones
![]()
Most of the hair metal bands of the 1980s have reunited for exhaustive American tours, and though the power ballad era seems to be long over, fans can’t get enough of their favorite ‘80s tunes.
Arena rockers provided the soundtrack for many lives—songs like Boston’s “More Than a Feeling” made romance cool again, and Styx’s “Renagade” and “Mr. Roboto” provided the background to dance parties and jam sessions in teenage bedrooms across the nation.
So then it’s fitting that these two superstar bands from the heart of the 1980s have teamed up for a summer tour. And, of course, they will be playing an arena—rock that fun needs a big space.
Boston and Styx play the Thomas & Mack Center June 28. Time TBA. Tickets are $25.
