Super Mario Galaxy
Nintendo Wii
![]()
The basic plot of this game is pretty simple: Bowser has kidnapped the princess and her entire castle with his giant spaceship and flown off deep into the universe. To save the princess, Mario must help a new friend, Rosalina, and retrieve all of the power stars scattered across the galaxies so they may power her spaceship and reach Bowser. Players must now take Mario across the universe hopping from one galaxy to the next, collecting stars and other bonuses along the way.
Super Mario Galaxy utilizes a unique physical property to make it possibly the most fun game for the Wii: gravity. Mario can roam freely across the surface of different planets and across galaxies, and the gravity changes depending on the type of the planet and other objects in space. Additionally, Mario can jump from planet to planet, utilize items to fly through space, or even get sucked into black holes as gamers explore the options that the game has to offer.
This game is a ton of fun to play, and even entertaining to just watch. Also, with a co-op mode available, players can give the other Wii remote to a friend and let him help out by simply collecting items and shooting star bits at enemies.
Super Mario Galaxy has so much to offer with its unique game play, tons of bonus adventures, and even alternate versions of the same worlds (caused by comets soaring by) that players will find themselves playing it again and again.
Plus, who knows? Maybe this time Mario will finally get Bowser for good. If he’s still not caught after a getaway across the universe, Bowser isn’t going to have many places left to hide.
