Wynn union flip-flop

Dealers at Wynn Las Vegas who organized through the Transport Workers Union last year but have not yet signed a labor contract have launched a union decertification effort.

The move comes after Steve Wynn announced that unionized dealers wouldn’t be eligible for jobs at Encore while contract negotiations are under way. Wynn also said dealers would not be eligible for health insurance upgrades until the contract is finalized.

Just as the drive to form a union was organized on the internet, so too is the effort to do away with the union. The website, wynnnonuniondealers.com, asks dealers what the union has done for them lately.

Some dealers who voted to organize are fighting the move, saying that a union without a contract is still better than no union at all.
