The Las Vegas Wranglers jump on board to two worthwhile causes in March as part of the Las Vegas Wranglers Community First Awareness Program. On Friday, March 7, the Wranglers join the efforts of McMullan’s Irish Pub in bringing funding and awareness to St. Baldrick’s, the world’s largest volunteer-driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research. On Friday, March 21, animal rescue takes center ice through the team’s association with the Nevada SPCA.

“Each program is really about life itself,” said Wrangler President and COO Billy Johnson. “We are very proud to be involved.”

A portion of ticket sales from the Wranglers March 7 game will be donated to McMullan’s Irish Pub’s St. Baldrick’s event. The main event will be at the pub, located on the northwest corner of West Tropicana and Cameron on Saturday, March 8. The event, which sees volunteers seek donations from family and friends to shave their heads in support of children with cancer, has a 2008 goal of $250,000.

To be certain a portion of your ticket goes to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, links to a special online ticket window can be found at www.McMullansIrishPub.com. “Just 1500 tickets sold through the McMullan’s web site raises $25,000 for this hugely rewarding cause,” Johnson said.

The team turns its attention to animal rescue on Friday, March 21, as a portion of ticket sales benefit the Nevada SPCA. The NSPCA is a not-for-profit organization that operates a no-kill animal sanctuary. Tickets to benefit the NSPCA can also be purchased through a dedicated ticket window on the sanctuary’s website, www.NevadaSPCA.org and by clicking the “events” link.

The Wranglers are offering a $25 game ticket and T-shirt package for each event, as well as a $16 ticket, with proceeds going to the respective causes. The team plays its home games at the Orleans Arena.

The team has prepared packages that feature rare ticket discounts designed to enlist the aid of the Valley’s various corporate human resource departments. “Everyone is looking for inexpensive team-building and charitable activities to do with employees and co-workers,” said Johnson.
