Shot for the Heart

The Las Vegas Wranglers take to the ice in February to benefit the American Heart Association’s fight against heart disease and stroke.

A total of 1,500 tickets for the Wranglers’ game on Friday, February 15, will be set aside for sale to those who wish to support a cause that touches every American. The event is part of the Las Vegas Wranglers Community First Awareness Program.

The Wranglers are offering a $25 game ticket and T-shirt package, as well as a $16 ticket, with proceeds going to the cause. The Wranglers, who average over 5,000 fans per game, say that by removing 1,500 tickets for one game each month from the market, organizations can realize a very fun, and funded, event.

A part of the American Heart Association’s mission is to call the public’s attention to information and initiatives that help people take positive action in a achieving a heart-healthy lifestyle, according to the American Heart Association’s website.

The Wranglers, an affiliate of the NHL’s Calgary Flames, hope to raise up to $25,000 for the American Heat Association in the first year of the event. The team plays its home games at the Orleans Arena.

The team has prepared packages designed to enlist the aid of the valley’s various corporate human resource departments.

“Everyone is looking for inexpensive team-building and charitable activities to do with employees and co-workers,” said Wranglers President and Chief Operating Officer Billy Johnson. “The American Heart Association made our short list this year because we believe in the important work that they do to remind us all that the quality of our health is often times up to us.”
