Station Stops
Station Casinos has until November 2010 to submit design reviews and begin construction on a new project at the site where its aging Wild Wild West sits.
Lori Nelson, Station Casinos spokeswoman, said the extension does not mean the company will be looking to develop that site upon completing Aliante Station, the $600 million project being co-developed with Greenspun Corp.
“It is not uncommon for us to go into the entitlement process,” Nelson said. “It gives us flexibility when it makes sense to develop a site.”
The company announced in 2005 that the Wild Wild West replacement project would come after the completion of Red Rock Resort. Instead, the company focused on Aliante Station.
In all, Nelson said the company could pursue any number of options, holding 337.9 acres at 10 possible development sites throughout Las Vegas, and 100 acres in Reno.
