How Blue Can You Get?

The ambassador of blues, B.B. King, unloads an arsenal of music at Buffalo Bill’s on New Year’s Eve by ringing in the New Year with some legendary licks on Lucille.

King, who’s now 82 years old, may be known for his hits including “3 O’Clock Blues” and “The Thrill is Gone,” but he is far more than just a blues guy; King is an extremely talented musician and one of the few people able to cross over blues to mainstream audiences.

The King of Blues’ impressive career includes more than 70 Billboard R&B chartbusters, and he has seamlessly blended country, gospel, rock, jazz and blues to become and remain one of the most influential guitarists to ever play on the planet.

Although he’s been slowing down quite a bit on stage—he often lets his support guitarist take over some solos and he sits down while performing—King is one of those musicians you have to see live once or you’ll be sorry when he’s gone and you didn’t.

B.B. King performs 8 p.m. on December 31 in Buffalo Bill’s Star of the Desert Arena. Tickets are $54.95 and $82.45.
