Harrah’s Helps Health

By Greg Jones   Fri, Jan 26, 2007

Harrah’s Entertainment recently opened an employee health and wellness center for its 30,000 Las Vegas employees and their families.

The 19,000-square-foot center features a medical clinic, which will provide primary care services including vaccinations and treatments of health problems and allow access to clinical staff who can diagnose and treat chronic conditions, such as diabetes and high blood pressure, and provide prescription medication.

Other services offered include health education, nutrition counseling and physical therapy. Harrah’s has similar facilities for its employees in Atlantic City, Tunica, New Orleans and Lake Tahoe.

“Harrah’s is dedicated to providing excellent benefits to our employees,” said Gary Loveman, Harrah’s chairman, chief executive officer and president. “By providing an easily accessible and affordable health and wellness service directly to our employees, we hope to encourage them to live a healthier lifestyle. This center is an example of our company providing the programs and support our employees and their families need to make healthy decisions and ensure high-quality health care.”
