Coast card consolidation
Boyd Gaming Corporation announced that it is moving toward a nationwide, consolidated player card program, beginning with a new Club Coast program for its four Las Vegas locals properties, Sam’s Town, Suncoast, the Orleans and Gold Coast.

The new program establishes a tiered system, with players qualifying for different tiers based on their level of play. The ruby, sapphire and emerald tiers offer increasing rewards, services and benefits. All new members start at the ruby level, with those who earn 20,000 base points within 90 days graduating to the sapphire level—and earning double points every day for at least six months—while those who earn 125,000 base points are bumped up to the emerald level and earn triple points.

All unredeemed Sam’s Town Prime Rewards points will be rolled into the new Club Coast system. The big advantage of the new system is that it will allow players to take and accumulate points on one card at a number of properties throughout the city, and soon, the country.

“Our goal is to build and reward customer loyalty, drive cross-property visitation and offer the ability to seamlessly earn and redeem rewards at any Boyd Gaming property throughout the country,” said Boyd Gaming COO Paul Chakmak.

The Las Vegas consolidation is the first stage of a nationwide rollout through which Boyd plans to connect the Club Coast card to programs at its properties in Downtown Las Vegas—Fremont, California and Main Street Station—as well as its properties throughout the country. Once the rollout is complete, players will be able to use their card at Boyd casinos in Nevada, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi and New Jersey.

The rollout is scheduled to be completed by the second quarter of 2008.
