Handicapping Hoops

The College Basketball Challenge at Leroy’s properties displays a treasured tradition—handicapping contests.

Bragging rights and cash accompany victory in the January-through-March competition. Each contestant must select seven games against the spread from the challenge card. Only Saturday games are included. The contest runs from January 4 through March 8 and the entry fee is $250.

The number of entries will determine the final prize. The winner receives 30 percent. Leroy’s Race and Sports Book properties in Las Vegas include Tropicana, Riviera, Hooters and Sahara. Leroy’s sister company, Computerized Bookmaking Systems, provide 90 percent of the sports-wagering terminals used in Las Vegas.
