Lady Luck Not Done Yet
Renovation plans at the Lady Luck casino in Downtown Las Vegas are delayed but not dead the property’s owners told Las Vegas officials.
The property has been closed since February 2006 for renovations, but little work has been done since then. Several months ago rumors started circulating that the project had been abandoned.
“It is like having a carcass outside my window when you look out there and don’t see anything happening,” Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman said.
Andrew Donner, speaking for several entities involved in the project, won a 90-day extension of an agreement giving the property’s owners exclusive negotiating rights to purchase public property adjacent to the casino. It was the fourth time the agreement has been extended.
Donner said details would be provided in 60 days.
