MGM to invest in M Resort
MGM Mirage announced last week that it will partner with Anthony Marnell III in the development of M Resort, an 80-acre casino-resort on Las Vegas Boulevard about 10 miles south of Bellagio.
The company has agreed to finance $160 million in the $1.8 billion project.
“This is a huge validation of the location, design and master plan,” Marnell III said.
The first phase of the development will consist of 400 rooms and suites, a 100,000 square foot casino, a 70,000 square foot events center and a spa. The estimated cost of the first phase is $700 million.
Site work on the project is already underway, with construction work scheduled to begin shortly. The property is expected to open in 2009.
