Golden Idols
The
American Idol train just keeps on rolling, even after the May season concluded with rocker David Cook crowned as the winner. Because someone somewhere out there is dying to hear Kristy Lee Cook warble through another country song, the
American Idol finalists are hitting the road to assuage the bitterness of disappointed voters.
The odds are pretty good that concertgoers will hear covers of songs from a wide spectrum of genres and decades, and maybe even a few original solo from the American Idol himself. Fans will also notice the absence of the first two cast-offs, David Hernandez and Amanda Overmyer. But the top 10 Idols will likely compensate for the loss of the bottom two finalists.
Those are still seething over the surprise early Carly Smithson exit and Syesha Mercado shutout will get to hear plenty from their favorites during this summer’s tour. Jason Castro is sure to delight the ladies with his whimsical smile and hippy charm, while David Archuleta’s baby face and sweet voice will charm parents and kids alike.
To relive the latest season of American Idol, snag tickets to the American Idols Live! Tour, presented by Pop-Tarts, of course.
The American Idols Live! Tour comes to the Thomas & Mack Center July 5 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $39.50, $54.50 and $68.50.
