Staging an Encore
Steve Wynn started the hiring process to fill 5,300 positions at the new Encore resort in Las Vegas, though the current state of the economy presents something of a mixed bag for the casino mogul.
Employees from other casinos may be reluctant to leave jobs to start at a new property with a probationary period, given the shrinking number of jobs available throughout the state. However, some employees recently laid off or dealing with hour cutbacks might be interested in finding work at the new property.
Wynn announced earlier that dealers from Wynn Las Vegas who voted to organize last year are not welcomed at the new property.
